Dopamine — Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 12, 2026
Dopamine is built so that your thoughts stay yours. This policy explains what little data the app touches, and why.
Your chats, tasks, and photos stay on your device
Everything you write in Dopamine — tasks, thoughts, photos and videos — is stored locally on your device. We do not run accounts, and we cannot read your chats. Deleting the app deletes this data.
Au, the AI companion
When Au replies to you (including Body Doubling check-ins), the relevant recent messages from that chat are sent to our server solely to generate Au's response. We use this data only to produce the reply and to enforce fair-use limits; we do not sell it or use it for advertising. A receipt of your App Store purchase is included to verify your subscription.
Anonymous analytics
We use Firebase Analytics to understand which features help (for example, "a focus session was completed"). These events are not linked to your identity, and chats are never included.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat with an anonymous identifier to know whether your subscription is active. We never see your payment details.
Notifications
Reminders and check-ins are local notifications scheduled on your device. They never leave it.
Children
Dopamine is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
